Accelerating the flow

The royal discipline, as it were the Wimbledon of the Lean Journey: Flow!
Everything is directed towards this, because the realisation of a continuous flow - in the best case a single-piece-flow - provides the evidence that you have successfully laid the foundations and have stabilised the process quality. The reward for all the effort: drastically reduced lead times, considerably increased productivity, highly reduced stocks. And ultimately: satisfied customers and unsatisfied market companions (competitors). In the end, only you will benefit! Because: flow creates speed, and speed wins.

Take a look at it for a moment: none of the Top-Ten tennis players hit their first serve at a speed below 170 km/h. The relentlessness of the basic strokes - and at the same time the precision - of world class players is breathtaking, also for semi-professional tennis players. And most of the stars in the tennis scene do the 100m sprint in substantially less than 11s.

Flow formingLean Tools - Fluss beschleunigen

The prerequisite for flow, whether in the office or in production, is an even development of performance. The rhythm that needs to be adhered to is always defined by the customer, the Lean world calls it »cycle«. Now the individual processing steps are adapted to the cycle, over time and space. This again requires a lot of professionalism in the handling of the balancing process, the capital resources and of course the participating human individuals.

V&S offers you the experience and implementation competence for a really good flow in your company. In reality, and not just on paper.

So it is like it is with tennis: It only counts on the court.

KANBAN

Over many years, Lean Production has in general parlance been used as a synonym for Kanban. This view of course has many shortcomings. Nevertheless: Kanban is still the most well-known and also most effective tool, because it makes low stocks with high availability of parts possible. And it is extremely easy to learn - a very important argument for a tool.

So it is like it is with tennis: Generally the simplest stroke is also the most successful. More about KANBAN...
